Dumb LJ questions

Well, I've spent the afternoon customizing instead of typing in Essex info. And now I have a bunch of questions.

1) What is "Free Text"?

2) Is it possible to put "update journal" into one's navigation menu? Manage? Log Out? I keep going back to the main user page do all these things.

3) What are links and how does one add them?

1. Free text is a section that usually goes on the side with your calendar. You can put info on what your journal is about, quotations, etc.

I think she wants to be able to get to those pages from her journal or friends page, instead of having to go to her user info page.

Nea, to my knowledge you can't put those in your nav bar (well, I shouldn't say can't, because it can probably be done, but it'd be programming-intensive), unless you wanted to slot one in as your personal website. You could, however, put them in your links.

I don't know if you can put them on the nav menu on all the styles but some of them yes. I added several LJ-centered links to my navs along the right side of my main journal and friends pages. I added them as straight HTML and they seem to work just fine

How did you do those ubercool headers for the different link sets?

just looked at the table structure on the template and copied it further down on the page
