Worked in Theory

Well, I'm giving up on half.com, temporarily. The first time I dumped books on it I made about $200, but I was selling old college texts, and they were very popular. Generic paperbacks, not so much. My mother tells me that the local library where I grew up (and I practically did grow up in the library!) has converted the balcony into one big booksale, so I'm packaging up all of the books I've held out for raffles and sales and donating them at Christmas.

This will leave two empty bookcases. That's going to be odd to adjust to.

I will be trying to sell my CDs on half.com in the new year, as I hear they do well and I've transferred them to the iPod.

Grrr, Argh

So, I got tired of paying a monthly fee for a cell phone I didn't use, and went to Tracfone. Which looked good on paper and looked cheapest of the plans.

But I had a hell of a time with tech service when I first got it... and then it took a 30-minute phone call to tech support to get the phone to accept new air minutes just now... except that it *hasn't* accepted the new air minutes, which means I'm about to lose my phone come Dec 1... and it cut off service the second I crossed the Canadian border... and it keeps ringing and I can't hear it... and... and... and...

And yet I'm not sure that I want to go back to the monthly fees, particularly now that I'm trying to scale back. Verizon has a $15 a month bare-bones service that might work without busting the budget.

Who is your cell phone with, how much do you pay, and are you happy with the service?
