Knitting stuff

[livejournal.com profile] fandom_knit had this link to cafepress knitting stuff.

There are lots of tempting, funny things - I may pick up "iKnit" sometime soon - but I think my ultimate favorite is the whole new spin on "k2, p2, k2, p2" on the first page... (Although bonus points for this one is pretty hilarious too.)

Vote on Nea's stuff again

Barely a month into the Seven Items Project and I'm running to my F-list to try to decide what I'm doing. Things are going to be wierd, or possibly pathetic, come December. ("Should I toss this piece of paper?" Y/N)

Still, looking at the results, even if I don't follow them, helps crystalize my thoughts. And the comments moreso. Also, I get to see who votes on trivia.

The end result for the earrings is that I pared it down to 14 pairs of earrings - couldn't bear to cull it down to just a dozen - and also went through the necklaces and bracelets and pins as well. Nice things have been set aside for presents later; the cheaper stuff is in a bag that I'm letting my friends pick through and then will probably freecycle.

On to the next dilemmas. The first is somewhat related - I have a bunch of quilting books only now I'm all about the knitting. I'm trying to figure out if I should cull or dump all the quilting books, and if I keep some, what the criteria should be. Also, I have a series of books on projects that I thought I'd get into that I never did... bath and body stuff, rag doll patterns, those indoor fountains. To dump is to admit that I wasted money on them, but also clears out my life. And even though I haven't actually decided to make a fountain in the three years I had the books, maybe next year I'll get this entire passion for them. Or maybe I'll be able to get anything I need off the 'net and don't need the books even if I do get that passion.

The other is even more useless. When I moved in, I bought a boatload of towels from the local warehouse club. The half-dozen towels I've been using since then are getting a little the worse for wear. I've been thinking of giving them a good bleach, but I've got the towels I *haven't* been using uselessly sitting in a box for years. They need a little love, or at least to be dealt with. And towels are... towels. Utterly useless and valueless; unlike the books they have no particular resale value. They're just... there. Taking up space.

So - as I sit and squint out the window trying to figure out if anything's falling, you get to vote over my stuff. Again.
