Lovely performance appraisal (WHEW!), tidy raise... and an interesting retention plan. My company is about to give me a generous extra check - BUT! If I leave before December 2011, I have to give it back.

I have decided to view this as my generous boss very graciously pre-paying for the 2011 Christmas/New Year's trip to England.
