I'm winding down on the Unreality SF reviews: here are some of the latest and last. I'm typing up the very last of 'em tonight, so there will be one more set going up.

Damn.

I'm dismayed and disgusted by the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Westboro Baptist. Free speech is curtailed for safety reasons (you can't yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater) and picketing funerals and the like is blatant harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

I'm doubly dismayed and discouraged because Westboro aren't the only ones celebrating. Instead of giving us a ruling that could be used against the anti-abortion protesters crowding against and shouting terrible things at women, they've been given a free pass to step it up. And I've already seen an article drawing that parallel (only from the anti side, complaining that buffer zones - as upheld in the Westboro case - are discriminatory and should be abolished.)
