Cautious Yay
I know I still owe people info about postage - sorry, didn't get as much done yesterday as I thought I would and am in mop-up mode tonight, am planning on getting my mitts on a postal scale tomorrow.
BUT!
As of today:
- My surgeon has basically told me "everything's fine, everything's benign, go thou and sin no more"
- The car insurance people sent me a check *in my name* for what their assessor said the damage would take to fix minus deductible, leaving me to decide where, when,how, if to deal with the ding. And any other dealings with Adam of On-Time Transit are up to them, not me.
- The phone people sent a technician out to actually *work* on the line, which is now, after no signal for a week and bad signal for half a week, *actually working.*
And it's been raining-but-not-monsooning without any puddles appearing in the basement.
So I'm waving a flag of happiness and shouting a cautious "YAY, I think it's all over!"
And a bit of silly: One of my coworkers sells carnival glass on the side and brings in "show and tell" pieces to work. On the very day my surgeon blessed me, he brought in a bottle for Lydia Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. I squeed and sang him the chorus to Lily the Pink (youtube link, SFW) and turned out to be the only one at work aside from him who knew who she was.
