Who Daily/T3/Sonic: lj user="neadods"> a href="http://neadods.livejournal.com/700594.html">has a liveblog of squee for all three shows

And this little fangirl goes "Squee! Squee! Squee! all the way home.

It didn't hurt that we start out with a big old heaping helping of fanservice between sardonic Ianto and Mr. Smith. The Sarah Jane fans have been speculating since Invasion of the Bane that Mr. Smith actually played that fanfare as his startup music, and now we know for sure! (BBC, why is this not a download mp3?)

I'm happy with the title credits. It was going to get ugly somewhere if all the companions weren't named, but they were. Technically even in (reverse) order, if you're counting School Reunion for Lis.

"Atmospheric shell" or not, should I even be asking about the tides, with the moon replaced with a couple dozen planets? Probably not.

Namecheck for Maria & Clyde, huzzah! I'd've liked to have seen them, but at least they haven't been ignored. And so Maria and Alan are in Cornwall, eh? Bit of foreshawdowing there, I think.

Ah, I see Torchwood isn't going to have any major changes in standard operating procedures here on Who. Not with that little exchange suggesting that Jack's still screwing secrets out of soldiers.

Rose has certainly changed, though, to not even look around as shots fly behind her and people fall.

Should I be asking why pull a planet through space and hold in its atmosphere only to kill everyone on it? Nope? All righty then. Because "culling" != "blasting from low orbit."

Aaaaand another spoiler bites the dust. Not only isn't the Shadow Proclamation not angry at the Doctor, they're not convinced he is who he says he is. Which makes sense, considering the whole "wiped from time" thing. But you can't take that man anywhere nice - notice how he steps on one of the chairs?

Namecheck "Woman Wept" - nice tie in to Nine's run - namecheck Klom (heh) - namecheck Calufrax, HAH! That is totally a shoutout to fandom, even if the name's misspelled on the comm. Or on the show, whichever.

Once again, I love Donna to bits. "Just as important as a Time Lord, thank you." And look at the smile on the Doctor's face!

Speaking of which, how big was the grin on Nick Briggs' face when he got to say "Annihilate UNIT!"?

I know that they've been predicting the death of a companion, but I simply don't believe that Martha's really dead. And still with the wierdo predictions of doom to Donna? Bugger.

The bees are going back HOME? BWAhahahahahaaaa!

"An you will lead us into battle!" Oh, he must be going through 72 kinds of PTSD hell at those words. Well, if the Shadow Proclamation wasn't pissed at him now, they're about to be in around three seconds.

Wilf is my new hero (again). A paintgun is a pretty good idea... well, in theory. It's not like daleks could be taken out *that* easily.

"D'ya wanna swap?" Wilf, I adore you to pieces, I truly do.

"I came here when I was just a kid. Ninety years old." Yes, it's a funny line, but considering the age of the people he likes to take with him, a little bit creepy too. I've long since felt the Doctor was a bit of a pedo by his species' standards.

Sarah Jane, I can't believe you're giving up. And not even mentioning the bit about "I told the Doctor he should have crossed those wires in 1975!" I can't believe that Jack's giving up either.

"Captain Jack Harkness, shame on you!" GO HARRIET JONES! HARRIET FOR THE WIN! Spoilers about her selling out the world my ass!

Half my friends list is going to be pissed off that I laughed at "I wanna get through" and the other half laughed harder.

YES! YES!! YES!!! Jack has been paying attention to the SJA! I totally ficced that And he flirts with Sarah! AND SHE FLIRTS BACK! YES!!! If the story screws up later, no matter how badly, this episode is completely perfect just because of that. *does insane happy dance* 2/3 of my OT3 have canonically cooed at each other!

At this moment in time, I don't even mind that the air conditioning is broken.

I deeply appreciate that they've brought right out Harriet's history with the Doctor. Although I would have assumed that she'd be swept back into power after the Saxon debacle - after all, she stabilized Britain after one disaster in Downing Street - I'm happier than I can say that she stands by what she did and why. Because I've believed all along that Harriet's original actions were right.

Although... if the subnet is supposed to seek out Companions, it should be picking something up from Rose. I guess we're handwaving that she can see it because of her companionship, but that she can't contact back because of a lack of webcam.

"I was there first." All right, you're feeling left out, but Rose, that was really selfish. And foolish. The only person who knows that you've breached the universes is also MIA, have you noticed that? And even cutting out all the knee-jerk old school references, Nine told you to your face "I've traveled with a lot of people" and you've already met Sarah Jane.

Harriet, I'm so proud that you're willing to go out a hero, but the signal is going to be coming from 13 Bannerman Road or the hub, not your place.

All right, British fans, I know *someone* has tried it - what happens when you call that number?

Has anyone ficced a conversation between Jack and Ianto about the Doctor? Because Ianto hasn't got to have too many fond feelings about the guy, not after T1 told him he was the enemy, his meddling was part of the reason why Lisa was cyberized, and he more or less kidnapped Jack (from Torchwood's point of view.)

The spoiler that Rose is reliving a time loop appears to be falsified, considering that she didn't know about the call and she worried about contacting Harriet instead of knowing that this is how it all worked out the first time.

The spoiler that Harriet becomes a dalek - always based on some pretty tenuous nonsense - is now falsified. I am more than a little surprised that they let her talk for so long, but she went out a heroine. The Doctor had damn well better learn that, and acknowledge it.

Don't do shots of the TARDIS in flight. Seriously, don't. It looks so stupid.

What is it Ianto says when Gwen says "I thought he'd be older"? Gone over it a couple of times and didn't get it.

Jack's been having PTSD all episode, and now it's Sarah Jane's turn.

Everlasting death for the most faithful companion. Place your bets! Early hints have pointed to Donna, but it's Jack's resurrection ability that makes his death "everlasting" and Rose, having crossed the void on her own, is ranking high for most faithful. Place your bets! (I'd seriously be worrying about Sarah Jane if I didn't know that her second season is already filming.)

Heh. I remember seeing YouTube footage of David running down the empty street.

"I'm goin' like Tosh." Nice nod to continuity; I'm glad to see that the loss of Owen and Tosh won't go unmentioned. And while I'd think that running would be wiser, I'm quite proud of Gwen.

Rose, you of all people knows what happens next! Part of me understands how upset and frightened Rose is; another part cynically thinks that the way Rose is going on suggests that she won't be able to love a third Doctor, just as she was so fond of Nine but only schmoopy over Ten. "But you can't!" reinforces that. Why can't he? The alternative is pretty dire.

I would be REALLY worried over Sarah Jane if I didn't know about the second season of SJA. Ditto Gwen and Ianto.

Hmmm... I don't think there's ever been a regeneration where you don't see the new face by the end credits. So while part of me is thinking "so much for the stories of him being offered millions to stay!" the rest is thinking that this is some sort of fakeout... although hell if I can imagine how!

AUGH! No trailer for next week!

I've heard that the BBC is going to be releasing a trailer tomorrow on the net for E13.

Rose has certainly changed, though, to not even look around as shots fly behind her and people fall.

This did make me a little sad. It seemed like she didn't care anymore and that's upsetting to me.

HARRIET FOR THE WIN!

Indeed. I like to think that the Doctor was wrong about her and I hope that he learns that he was.

And he flirts with Sarah! AND SHE FLIRTS BACK! YES!!!

I actually fistpumped at that. Because Jack/Sarah Jane is totally hot and awesome. I love it!

"I was there first." All right, you're feeling left out, but Rose, that was really selfish. And foolish.

This made me sad, too. Not the Rose I want.
