If the Torchwood audio plays have been announced as airing July 1-3, how come Amazon just told me that it can't deliver the CDs until the end of August?

Probably because they might move the airing date - like with Lost Souls last year...

Can't tell you that, but I CAN tell you that you should be happy you didn't even think about spending the big $$$ to see John Barrowman at that fancy "Torchsong" convention...

He can't attend because he's badly injured his ankle!

Oh. My. God. After all that money - are people getting refunds?

Don't know, apparently the server crashed from heavy traffic. I think they are going to do some sort of satellite direct two-way feed... but it's not the same as having them THERE...

I noticed that; I tried to link to the site.

Satellite 2-way is NOT enough compensation for people who paid the $500 to get to the cocktail party and the cabaret. Nowhere near enough. That's who I keep thinking about - the people who paid the premium. I know John didn't deliberately do anything like David didn't... but it's not like Hamlet, where at least there was the exact same play with 99% of the original cast. It's people who've paid an exorbitant amount for something that is now not being remotely provided.

There had damn well better be at least partial refunds.

I certainly hope so, or I think John will bear the brunt of the ill-will that would be created, not the organizers who set such an outrageous price... And that would devastate him, I think.

I don't blame him. I don't blame him at all. It's like David; it's an accident and I'm sure he feels horrible about it all.

But oh, the people who paid so much!

And now I learn from a different thread that Kai isn't coming because his wife had a miscarriage. The con is cursed!

Certainly makes you think that, doesn't it?

I ALSO wonder what this means for the *High-heeled part* he was going to do in La Cage Aux Folles (sp?) Yeah- it's 3-4 months off, but ankles are tricky things...

I think Albin's going to have to wear flats. I "broke" my arm two years ago and it still hurts sometimes.

If he can play the role at all. All the ligaments torn? He's not going to be walking for 2 of those 3 months.

AT the very least. I wonder if some part of him is glad that Torchwood ISN'T doing a full season this year?
