For the effort it would take to chip down through several layers of paint in a complex design full of grooves, I might as well rip off the molding entirely and start over.

...which is not necessarily out of the question.

*sigh* My chances of finishing the kitchen by the end of the year are vanishing. But I think in the end it's gonna be a gorgeous kitchen!
