O.O

Between what I already had and what I bought when Tangled Skein went out of business, it turns out that I have *142* skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic in assorted colors. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but with 15,000+ yards to work with, I'm going to be doing it for a long time.

I haven't counted all the remix, but simply judging by the amount of storage it's requiring, I've got at least that much, if not more. I certainly have enough just in shades of brown and cream to knit a queen sized blanket. And I have enough red, green, and goldish yellow to make a Christmas throw, although I'm not entirely sure I want to dedicate that much time and material to something that will only be used 6 weeks out of the year. (M wants me to knit a Christmas sweater with it -- she's appalled that I knit so much and have nothing to wear -- but that doesn't particularly address the effort/materials v usage calculation.)

Also, Knit Night Lives!!! We met last night at a little place in Riversdale. We have to pass the hat at the end of the night to pay for the space, but the fee is nominal, particularly when split among the group, and it's actually closer to my house than the store was. A Tangled Skein may be gone, but the community it built is fighting to survive.

Aw man, that is SO cool... let me know in advance before the next one? Because this time there's no way I could jump in, but next time...

(I've inventoried about 2/3 of the stash. God knows I have yarn enough.)

And by the way, thank you for all the work you're doing on collating the various patterns for the Sherlock blanket KAL. I've been downloading charts and patterns, with the idea of turning them into knit/purl arrangements instead of intarsia so that I can combine those patterns and Holynarf's Who stuff into one big wholock blanket o' doom.

Oh man! That sounds like an awesome project. Don't thank me on the KAL, though. That's mostly Runciblespork. I just designed the Baskerville square.

Signups for Tourney 8 will be in May, with the Tourney itself happening June, July and August. Just in time for Tour de Fleece, which I am so doing this year! But I'll definitely be doing promo for it on my LJ so you won't miss out!
