20 Random Facts:
1 I have a rock embedded in my left palm. Not a punk fashion statement, a leftover from a childhood fall on a cinder road.
2 I have 3 scars on my lower lip/chin. At one point my mother wanted me to get surgery to "fix" that, but although the surgery was never done, I'm betting $5 that the people who've seen me in person haven't noticed any of them, and certainly not all 3.
3 I'm allergic to yellow food dye.
4 I was a second degree Gardnarian Priestess before I went atheist.
5 I had been a Lutheran altar girl & choir member before *that.*
6 I love being in new cities but hate the actual "travel to get there" part. Driving is tiring, planes make me queasy, and trains never go where I want them to go (except the Northeast corridor).
7 I spent Jr. Year Abroad in London and adored England.
8 I have drunk from the Chalice Well in Glastonbury. (feh! Iron oxide!)
9 I don't like spicy food.
10 I go into withdrawel if I can't check my email at least once every 3 days.
11 I'm finding it surprisingly hard to come up with 20 pieces of trivia that everybody doesn't already know that I'm willing to put on the Internet.
12 If I didn't have a DC-centric job and a fantastic house, I'd totally move to NYC. I lurve me that NYC.
13 I own an autographed vial of the Salk polio vaccine. (Somewhat long story. Well, strange story. Believe it or not, I inherited it.)
14 I love to cook, but I hate cleaning up or shopping for groceries. As a consequence, I eat a lot of takeout.
15 Although I have yet to learn BFA, I want to someday learn how to speak proper Shakespearean English.
16 I really enjoy taking classes. Which means that there's another degree or a large debt to Teaching Company in my future. (See below.)
17 For a long time, my two goals were to be a Master costumer and to have a Masters in history. I've decided against continuing competitive costuming and I have a Masters... just not in history.
18 I was prone to panic attacks for most of my youth. I'm not sure I'm over them per se as I've learned how to deal with the situations that triggered them.
19 I take a long time to get angry. When I am... run.
20 I love things that make music. Singing. Wind chimes. Drums in the distance. Bangles and charm bracelets and anklets with those spirit bells on them.
Not tagging anyone by name, anyone who wants to can do it.
On the political front - I'm a huge UNfan of TWoP and the general 'tude of the people who run it, but when a third party sent me this link to Ms Alli's rant, I have to stand up and applaud, because she really put her finger on my problem with Bush right now: No matter whose fault the slow relief effort was, the fact of the matter is that these are Americans, and this is their President, and the fact that they were homeless, starving, dying of thirst, and deprived of medication never once seemed to actually bother him.
