Yeah, I admit my first thought on reading the article was that it sounded like a dick move on his part (and my second being that someone is going to feel really bad if Moonlight gets cancelled as quickly as it seems like to), but the point about them being 5000 miles apart and him not having a lot of free time to hop a plane and give her the bad news face-to-face is a major mitigating factor.

And as noted, it may not be true anyway. (And in the RPF talk about David/Billie time nao, has anyone brought up the point that Billie is now apparently engaged or recently married to her current guy, IIRC? I haven't bothered reading the chatter anywhere but in nostalgia_lj's post on the matter, and at least there it was funny.)
