Martha, the character, could have been better written/better employed on the show (IMO), but for God's sake, if someone really hates the character that much wouldn't they be thrilled that the actress has (apparently) signed to a part that makes it much less likely we'll be seeing her in the Whoniverse for a while? Particularly with a new producer about to take over? There's a tiny but incredibly nasty contingent on the Forum that seems fixated tearing down Freema and her career ("The Beeb fired her! She only got that acting award because Billie Piper wasn't nominated against her! She only got Survivors and L&O because she's black!"), and Christ, I'm a fan of Freema's and I'm not one-tenth as obsessed with her as they are.
