And I agree that the strip can be slow when you're awaiting a payoff, but the payoff and even the diversions can be worth it. Once, during a music practice, Amos remarked to the snotty brunette pianist that Edda had said no one ever says anything dirty to her. Next panel the pianist is gone, there are some sheets of music fluttering down in her wake, and Amos, not having moved, remarks, "Say hi for me." Not a big plot point, but it cracked me up.
