My $.02 on "Person of Interest"

So, I saw the premiere of Person of Interest last night. Which pretty much went like this:

"Theorizing that one could stop crimes before they happen, Finch built a backdoor into his terrorist assesment software -- and vanished. He logged on to find himself inundated with social security numbers that were not his own, driven by an unknown force to change lives for the better. His only muscle on this journey is Reese, an ex-soldier who appears in the form of a homeless man that only Finch understands. And so Finch finds himself making Reese investigate from life to life, striving to put right what will go wrong..."

Wonderful!

I'm intrigued, but didn't get a chance to watch the pilot. The premise reminds me of "Minority Report", though.

Wouldn't know; haven't see that. It's *very* Quantum Leap, though.

Sounds like a cross between Quantum Leap and that movie.... can't think of the title, based on Phillip K Dick story; psychics/mind-readers predicting crimes, and special police arresting the not-yet criminals....

Minority Report. Which I haven't seen, so I don't know how that parallel works, but it's *very* Quantum Leap in a post-9/11 way.

Missed it. Was it any good?

Decent. Will be interesting to see what it settles down into; you never entirely know from the first episode.
