Team Wench Midsummer Fantasy Ball

Am so damned tired that I can't even get my brain to boot, but wanted to report that the proceeds from last night's Team Wench Midsummer Fantasy Ball (Goblins vs Gears, a steampunk/fantasy mashup) netted $6,000 for multiple sclerosis research. That's not the dizzying heights of the Privateer Feast numbers, but the Ball has a much more expensive venue. On the other hand, we were rocking so hard that the bride, groom, and best man of an engagement party elsewhere in the hall snuck out of their party to check out ours!

Over 150 items were up for raffle. I bid on several things; I won a knitting bowl.

and now... brrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnssssssss.... *moan, shuffle with arms out*

I think you need to tell some of us what a "knitting bowl" is. I'm getting several mental images, probably none of them accurate.

It's a ceramic bowl with a hooked slit cut in one side. You put the yarn in the bowl and run it through the slit as you knit. So if you tug, the whole ball won't go rolling across the floor, tantalizing the cats.

It was quite the event. So glad that you and Doug invited me to go this year. Had a great time.

And the knitting bowl was such a simple, yet clever, design. First one I've ever seen.

Yarn bowls are all over Maryland Sheep and Wool. I've flirted with taking a ceramics class at Greenbelt to make my own.
