Made it through the night
There were times when the rush of wind made it sound as though my bedroom was underwater, but the gusts never reached as bad as we were told to fear. Irene & the derecho were much worse. The power has held. I'd still be in bed, but I forgot to turn my alarm off and now the cats want breakfast. It sounds like any rain now - moderately hard rain, yes, but little wind. Come daylight, I'll walk around the property, but I'd already know if something really bad had happened to it, I think.

We had a pretty windy night up here in south-western Ontario, but I'm far enough from the Great Lakes not to have any serious issues. Expecting a few downed branches and a swelling river on my way to work.

I can't believe how lucky we were here. It looks like (fingers crossed) we missed out on EVERYTHING. No real snow, no wind, no lost power--it's just cold, and hell, it's practically November, so that's nothing.
