Um. Is this a good idea or not?

So... 221B Con has a crafting circle. I'm wondering if I should make up a couple of Fangirl's First Knitting Kits and have them with me to give knitting lessons with/give away. Nothing fancy -- a couple of wooden straight needles, enough kitchen cotton for a washcloth, a couple of rubber stitch markers, and a very simple knitting pattern. To be honest, I have spare everything except needles, and clovers come cheap - but looking at 40 books waiting to be packed I wonder if I'm getting carried away?

On the other hand -- what's a con FOR except to share your enthusiasms?

If I were going, I'd give one of the kits a try (as I have tried to knit in the past and utterly failed at it), but alas, I am not going, and thus am probably not a good sampling. But I think if you already have the materials at hand, a couple of kits probably wouldn't go unused (think of all the people who are sure to see the crafting circle and say, "Oh what a good idea" and then you whip those out and say "HERE JOIN IN!"), and if you do end up needing one, you'll be glad you prepped them.

I'm thinking of it this way. If I get double-points and tip them and nobody buys a kit, I've got some more double-points and can reball the yarn for myself.
