What are y'all doing on the 25th?

On the 25th of this month, there's going to be a right-to-choose march on the mall. It's being heavily advertised on TV and radio. Except on WWMX in Baltimore, which pulled the ads after 10 complaints. The station director's explanation? It's not that the ad is indecent or violates station rules. No, "I think people were offended that there would even be an ad promoting that," Monz said.

Because heaven forbid that anyone try to drum up more business for a legal demonstration to protect a legal right. Think if 10 people called in about the annual anti-Roe demonstration those ads would disappear?

I didn't think so either. I'd been waffling on whether I'd go. I'm not waffling anymore.

If I could get off my ass and make an Amtrak reservation, I'll be there with a friend. Meeting up may be insanity to even try, but... wanna try?

You don't necessarily need a reservation; roughly 10 minutes after a reserved train leaves, an unreserved one goes, or you can use a reserved ticket on an unreserved train. The earlier you leave, the better off you are for finding seats/getting a break on the price. And if you're AAA, you get 10% off. (Not that Amtrak is my favorite way of getting to and from NYC or anything.)

I'd love to meet up! I could even meet you at New Carrolton as the train arrives if you want, and we can metro to the melee together. (This is, admittedly, our best chance of actually finding each other.) Last time I looked, the grand muster was to start at 10am, with the main events happening between 1 - 6pm.

I'd offer couch space, but it's already occupied with out of town marchers. If necessary, I could find you another couch.

Get off your fanny and give it a whirl. Good cause, good friends - there's a downside?

I'm walking that day. In Annapolis. *chuckle*

Hope lots of people show up!

Oh, right, that's the MS walk, innit?

Due respect to the charity, my heart's with the one downtown this year.
