And now, linkspam

And now, a bunch of stuff that I just found on the f-list.

Fic Recs:
Bereft by [livejournal.com profile] wendymr; the Doctor, set during "Aliens of London."

Maternal Instinct also by Wendy but Jack, Ten, (and Martha offstage) set towards the end of Season 3. Tiny spoiler for Lazarus Code.

Glass and Water by [livejournal.com profile] becky_h; Jack/Five. NSFW. Spoilers for Utopia/Torchwood S1. Not just smut; that conclusion is going to rip your beating heart out.

Fabulous Sarah Jane vid to Cher's "Strong Enough".

Not Her Type by [livejournal.com profile] lordshiva Donna, Ten. "I'm not really attracted to you that way. You remind me too much of my old flatmate’s ferret, Slinky.”

Other Recs:
[livejournal.com profile] karenmiller has a post about an author's view of reviews. I've only been whipping by, but as soon as I catch up, I intend to roll up my sleeves and really have fun with this topic. :>

But now... off to bed. Absolutely wiped; wish I'd been in bed about an hour ago!

Oh, you're just too sweet. Thank you! :)))))

Minor correction, though: Bereft is actually set during Aliens of London, after he brings her home and realises it's been a year, not a day.

I read that fic by Becky. Very good, but very, very painful... my poor Jack!

Have a good sleep - you need it!

Oh, golly, it would be, wouldn't it? Will fix the post.

Very good, but very, very painful

I recced it because of those last five paragraphs, which took it well above the usual "Jack does everybody" story. I think I'm still digesting all the nuances of Ten's actions in light of what Five said to him. I think there's a fic in there, although next on my plate is the Jack & Sarah Jane post-Bane. I was mulling over opening scenes on the planes.

I just wandered over, in a round about way, from [livejournal.com profile] karenmiller's post (I hope you don't mind). And thank you for the rec! I would love, love, love to see Ten's reaction to Jack in light of that written - or fic written around it, if and when you get to it. The idea makes me a *lot* happier than my execution of it.

I don't mind at all - I'm glad you're willing to let me noodle around with the idea. The plot bunny is only a bitty baby at the moment, but it's growing... That last part was such a staggering idea to me.

I hope you get some new readers from the rec. It's such a great idea.

Oh, heck, play away. The idea is so much fun and turns *everything* about Ten and Jack's interaction so far upside down that it just makes me want to poke and pry - or see other people do it. (And thank you, yet again)

I'm glad you're enthusiastic. It's 2/3 written in my head already; I just have to get home, double-check a couple of things in your story, and then pour out three Doctors' worth of Gallifreyan POV...
