Sewing patterns

I would look smashing in this; although I'm not going to pay that for a fancy dress, I would like to find the equivalent sewing pattern to make one to match my hat for the next Malice tea. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In the meantime, while I search, I am amused to find that Butterick has this, considering that Moresca sells that dress for $275.

I think I HAVE that pattern.. 15th Cent?!?! WHO do they think they are kidding?! It's closer to 12th!

That's why I liked their phrase "loosely interpretable". (Not that I know Rennie garb, I just figured they were taking some liberties.)

Yeah- but the Rennie Community does not (for the most part) GO for the idea of "Loosely interpretable"...

Keep an eye on the Coldwater Creek clearance pages. There's a good chance you'll be able to get the dress for 50% off after the holidays.

True - I've got a 40% coupon that I want to see if I can use before Christmas, but that has to be for work or interview wear. I look stunning in teal and bronze, and so intend to do a lot of wardrobe remaking now that they're suddenly "in."

I have a $30 off coupon code you're welcome to if you can combine the discount.

I've got that one too - I'm getting their catalogs and emails about every other day. Methinks they're having a rocky selling season...

I would probably charge about $200 - $250 for that if I were still in business. That's based on materials and $20/hr labor.

This is what happens when nobody learns to sew anymore. :-)

Honestly. If there's one thing costuming has done for me, it's the confidence that if necessary, I can reverse-engineer that dress from the picture.

I'm cringing at the thought of all the ruching. And yeah, I've noticed a marked increase in historical pattern offerings from the mainstream companies. Really nice, detailed patterns. They're tapping into the cosplay, re-enactment, Renfaire market in a big way

I *know*! Where were they when I was in competition costuming? I'd've killed for some of these patterns back in the day.
