Firefox users - is it possible to have the browser open with two tabs open - i.e., have two home pages? If so, how?

All I do is open Firefox again and it opens up a new home page. I often do this when compiling [livejournal.com profile] who_daily and I hadn't yet *finished* my own tabs

I've been doing the newsletters and then doing my flist... or when I'm doing the big ones, I just go lie down afterwards!

I often use this approach myself, usually with a stiff drink in hand.

Yes. Uhm...

Go to Tools, Options.

Chose the "open Home page" from the drop box.

Enter the addresses of the pages you want to open, with a pipe between each address, like such:

http://www.livejournal.com/|http://www.yahoo.com/

Click "OK"

Done!

The other way to do it - if you want to be able to easily see/change the pages is to bookmark a group of pages:
* have any number of pages open
* Ctl-Shift-D (Bookmarks --> Bookmark All Pages)
* Save the new bookmark group to the personal toolbar

This will allow you to open multiple sites with a single click of your mouse -- not as easy as just opening a browser window but not much tougher. It also allows you to add/remove/update/rename the group as needed.

Practical example: I have my various banks on one tab-group, my credit cards on another, my monthly bills on a third, and the whole lot of 'em on a fourth. I can still open any single link I want - but I can also open groups -- very useful come payday when it's time to pay bills.

sure! at the moment I have 7 tabs open - I nearly always have around 4 or 5. And yes, you can have multiple tabs for the same site. For example, when I'm reporting yahoo spam, I'll have my regular yahoo tab, and then open a second one for the spam report page - so I can flip back and forth getting the header and text. Same with ebay: when I'm bidding, I have one tab to keep track of the item, and a second bid prepped for my last second bid (all I have to do is watch the clock and hit 'proceed') and I can keep track of the bids by hitting refresh on my first ebay tab without screwing my prepped bid page. no reason you can't have more than one tab for your home page.

Unless your firefox is different than mine, Look under 'file' and the second choice is 'new tab'. Click it. or be lazy like me and just hit "control T" as many times as you want tabs. Load 'em up.

I love tabs! it's so easy to flip around between them and see where everything is. especially when searching pattern sites or fabric sites, I may have a tab for each company open.
