A general comment on human nature: Some folks could be offered "cake or death" and they'll choose death because they don't like the frosting on the cake.
You're absolutely right, but I can also see the flip side: after 52 years of icing that you don't like, have never liked, and will never like, the temptation to say "f**k the damned cake" is almost irresistible.
