neadods: (goodbye)

Aw, hell

I just discovered [livejournal.com profile] tv_elf has died. I didn't know her well; we were mostly the friend-of-a-friend to each other, with our shared territory a single mailing list that was mostly killed off by LJ.

But I knew her, and knew her to be a good person, and a fun one, and the part that's gutting me the most is looking at her still-active journal and seeing the ephemera of an engaged life and (most heartbreaking of all) yuletide requests in the confident hope of actually being there to read them.

Memento moris used to be skulls and bones and things that lost their thoughtfulness many halloweens ago. Now they're phosphor on screen and they're devastating.

Sorry, don't have nonbook icon.

Very sad to hear this. I didn't know her, but knowing people who did, my heart goes out to you all.

{{{{massive hugs}}} It means a lot, that everyone remembers her so well, you know? And I'm still having a hard time believing it. I feel like she should get to read and write her Yuletide requests too. She beat the odds so consistently, some part of my head still thinks she could beat them again.

She always knew that every day was a maybe. We were so enriched by how very many days we had with her.

May her memory be a blessing.

In some ways, it's harder to deal with a death online because you don't get to see them. They're just... not there anymore.

i heard a bit about her from other people at the con. she seems like she was a really wonderful person, surprising, and vibrant.

*hugs*
