I Have No Clever Title

It's cold, it's wet, it's pouring, and I'm quite jolly because I get to watch it through a window rather than set foot outside.

The Joyful Tidings:
- Dad continues to be stronger and they got the last of the tubes and stuff out of him.
- "Naughty or Nice" just got recced on [livejournal.com profile] calufrax as "absolutely adorable" and "cracktastically plausible" and I'm not sure which phrase has me more squeeful.

We are mixing things up a bit this year. I have been insisting on cooking the Christmas beast on Christmas Eve, so that the day isn't full of fussing over pots and pans. However, due to the weather, the minister and his wife couldn't make it out to see their daughter (my mother's adopted granddaughter, as neither actual child of hers has seen fit to marry and breed). So we're having presents tonight and the big meal tomorrow has been expanded to include them.

My mother has already started giving me lots of old family photos to get them "out of the house." Including my parents' wedding album. O.o

To those on the road, may you travel safely. To everyone celebrating, whatever you're celebrating, may you find peace and joy in your friends and beliefs.

He's getting over his cold too. This is all Of The Good.

Glad to hear your dad is doing better. Happy holidays, and may the Christmas beast be subdued swiftly and easily so the day isn't consumed by fussing with pots and pans.*grin*

It's just not Christmas until my parents argue over how to season a cast-iron pan. 51 years of marriage, and they still snap at each other over it.

Happy Merry!

Just got done reading Smap's Christmas letter and thought I'd also send my hopes for your dad's continued recovery. Here there are... *sprinkle* and here's a bit more for the new year.

While I am thrilled to hear of your dad's better health, I am gobsmacked to think of anyone giving away his/her own wedding album. Are you sure she knows it's in the mass of stuff you got?

She knows - she pulled it out and went over it page by page with me!

It freaks me the hell out, frankly.
