yes, I assumed you meant in the UK - heck all the TV I watch these days is UK and on the UK schedule - I just haven't been paying attention to the calendar, Who, etc and I lost track of time.

Judging from the past, he'd just say that you "need" your holiday ruined by him. As if he had a right to decide that.

I hear from comments in another post that he really did move to California. I'm just nasty enough to look forward to the reaction when he tries to pitch an angstfest as a holiday special here. Much less try to get into racial issues.

Market forces are probably going to force him to at least change his game; that Torchwood was a huge hit on a tiny cable channel that most people don't even get isn't going to take him far; that he oversaw a huge hit in another country will only get him marginally further. Sooner or later, he's going to have to deal with the fact that American entertainment is predominately tilted towards the upbeat and inspirational.

IOW, snuffing kids onscreen will NEVER play in Peoria!

I took the decision not to watch the final 3 Ten specials back after Planet of the Dead and I'm sticking to that.

It'll probably be a re-watch of a Three & UNIT story (with *proper* UNIT) tonight for me!

I'm going to watch, if only to know. But in the long run, you're probably making the wiser decision.

Well, I haven't watched the latest SJA yet either. I think I'll save that for *after* to re-establish my faith in the Whoniverse.

I think it louder and more grimly with every news report. If it weren't for the leaking pictures of Eleven, I think I'd leave this fandom. But if I just hold on, I have faith in the Mighty Moff.

From what I've been reading, it's what I expected - really rather good right up to the point where it gets unmistakeably awful.

ETA: I do intend to watch it. But I also intend to be test-knitting a mobius strip at the same time. I want to leave the hour with something accomplished that I'll find worthwhile in my life.

Aha! I'll test-drive the new tatting shuttles I got yesterday. (My first shuttle keeps fanging me with the point. I got one made of bone, another plastic one without the pronounced point, and I forget the other two. Also a metal ball to hold the roll of thread.)

I almost got into tatting just because I saw a display of fancy shuttles. They can be beautiful things. (But I also know from the fanging - I've got some lovely knitting needles that are vicious little bastards. Beautiful, but a ninja should own them.)

We have one knife in the rack that was always known as the vampire breadknife, because every time you used it it had to draw blood. Very Japanese...

I'm more excited that I'll be seeing a ton of friends and NOT working more than the episode itself.

Yep, same here. My level of unenthusiasm is astounding, really. Might even wait to watch it until *gasp* it actually airs here.

If I had the brains God gave a duck, I wouldn't watch the last two until spoiled rotten... and maybe not more than the final scene of the second.

Seems I'm the lone holdout who is looking forward far more to the final three Tennant episodes - despite knowing that the angst and torment index will be far too high - than to the new Doctor :(

I'll miss Tennant the actor, but I'm utterly worn out by the OTT angstfest that Who has turned into. I don't *care* anymore. I'm supposed to care.

When my own "character in my head- the Doctor's Elder Sister" wants to go slap him silly- there's something very wrong.

Well, I've seen it, and I liked it. Because I'd been avoiding spoilers, I was surprised by the ending - which is not the generic deathfest I had expected (can't be more specific without spoilers). It certainly made me think, and I enjoyed it a lot more than the pointless PotD.

And since, for all sorts of reasons, I can't look forward to Moffat, I'm going to enjoy these last few Tennant-RTD-era episodes all I can!

PotD was nothing but filler. When the Scottish Falsetto Sockpuppet version is infinitely superior, you know there's something wrong.

My sentiments are similar. I'm more interested to see what sort of overarching plotarcs are set up to pay off in the new Doctor's era than anything to do with the episodes as such.

I'm not entirely sure there could be any arcs - haven't they been making it clear that Moffat's going to be more or less a new broom?

Please don't let there be any arcs. I want to see someone else's Doctor, not see someone else's Doctor mop up after RTD.

Thank you for saying what I was thinking out loud. I spoiled myself for Waters of Mars and I just...I don't care. I don't even care enough to get angry. I'm tired of Ten and though I have problems with Moffat at least he remembers that Who is a family show and its hero probably shouldn't be a self-pitying psycho.

It's almost a relief, to know that my Ten!squee is dead and not coming back. It relieves me of the responsibility to watch the regeneration specials.

I've stopped caring myself, and that's hardly how I'm supposed to feel about the show.

I'm going to watch, though.... eventually. This is hardly something I'm rushing to do tonight. I'm also going to be working on a new knitting technique, so that at the end of the hour, I'll feel I'll have done something worthwhile.
