Snowmaggedon ain't over yet

The news, repeatedly: "The snow is tapering off now."

The sky: falling just as fast and hard as when it started at noon yesterday.

I'm hearing that from cousins in PA, who are effectively snowed in for the time being...

We got about 4 inches here and it was over by morning. I kind of miss that kind of snow. *Sigh*

Last week with the 6" wasn't so bad - 90 minutes with the snowblower, done.

But I think one > 20" fall per year is ENOUGH!

It looks pretty much over here. But from the radar it was headed for Maryland/Eastern Shore.

I kind of like snOMG....

We've filled four bird feeders twice since yesterday morning and they're empty again. We've got several big bags but they won't last long at this rate. Anybody else want to adopt that flock of grackles and give the other birds a chance?

I'm worried about the fox in the back 40. I hope it doesn't smother under all this... if it didn't smother in December.

It will probably be okay eating the rabbits and birds that don't make it....

But it wouldn't hurt to put out some kibble, well away from the house so it doesn't associate the food with you. If the food vanishes, no bets on who ate it, though-- could be birds, squirrels, even the rabbits, possum, coon, whatever.

I doubt we can get back there to get to it. It's going to be a challenge just to get off the porch!

Sometimes weather people need to look out the window. My brother John called during hurican Andrew because the weather guy said all was clear, then looked out the window and hung up. It was coming back around.

Glad to know you're okay though.

My mother is appalled at how much I paid the kids, but it was totally worth it not to be hammered flat.

We're some of the lucky ones - the power was steady the whole time.
