Why Nea Loves Labor-Saving Devices:
As soon as I get my butt off the Internet, the following will be happening at once:
- the crockpot will continue simmering my caramelized onion and dried fruit compote
- the washing machine will do the load of lights
- the dryer will finish my sheets
- the roomba will vacuum the main hallways and my bathroom
and all while I iron while listening to last week's Staggering Stories. The only fly in the ointment is that I have to do my own damn ironing, but the fact that everything else is going to toddle along without more than distant supervision is a lovely thing.
It's also kind of impressive what I'm willing to do/program/supervise rather than finish stripping the bathroom wallpaper, isn't it?

(I usually joke that my ironing refuses to do itself, and the House Elf is absent...)

I gave up on one clothing catalog because half the stuff in it said "Hand wash" or "Dry clean", which I read as "Turn the page."

I've given up ranting now, but I *so* don't see the sense or the point.

The other thing I hate, in catalogs and stores, is clothing made of natural fabrics which is then advertised as "fully lined." Always in polyester. Because it's SO SMART to take a light, breathing fabric and put a layer of plastic between you and it!
