A rec and a couple Sherlock questions

Any fans of making language dance really need to read this post on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes. Read all the comments (although only speakers of German will get the best of it) and keep liquids away from the monitor.

I have a lot to do this weekend. My response: "Clean all the things?" To utterly distract me... are there Sherlock equivalents of [livejournal.com profile] calufrax and/or Teaspoon?

And finally, randomly... Gytha has learned to say "no." Literally, clearly, "NO!" The Siamese in her is coming out in more than her coat.

To the best of my knowledge, there aren't *yet* equivalents of Calufrax and Teaspoon for the Sherlock fandom; with the way the main comm's being saturated with fic, though, it's only a matter of time, imo.

I thought it might be too new for that, but there is an *awful* lot of fic tumbling out, and combing through for the stuff I want to read is never easy.

Y'know, I remember back in the day when it was possible to say that you owned everything pertaining to a fandom. It only lasted for a month or two then, but these days, I doubt it would last 24 hours - if be possible at all!

I know! And considering that this specific fandom's canon (admittedly televisual canon, as opposed to jossable adaptations of book-canon) amounts to only three 90-minute episodes and one unaired 60-minute pilot, there is a *humonguous* quantity of fanworks of all kinds out there.

Mostly of the "... and then they done sex" variety, I'm noticing.

I'm not particularly complaining about this, but after a while Tab A, Slot B gets monotonous.

Agreed. Then I read this and even though I've mostly been reading gen fic, this one is gorgeous.

Ooooo! I pulled Distraction and the Thermodynamics cycle from Library of Sol to Tubso last night, but I'd missed this one.

How much gen are you *finding,* and how much of it is worth the rec? I think I'm getting ready for the novelty of them keeping their clothes on, but off the top of my head, the only things I've got for that are [livejournal.com profile] calapine's We're British, We Make Tea [livejournal.com profile] dark_aegis's Watson PTSD one A Version of Normal, a passed-on rec from the kinkmeme called Pot Shot, Hotshot (if you want that for your tech, I corrected spelling & punctuation before it went into Tubso & can send) and [livejournal.com profile] annlarimer's crackfic drabbles Six Ways the Great Game Won't End. Add in the Life on Mars/Sherlock crossover and TBH, that's the only gen I know that's out there!

And much as I like the work of [livejournal.com profile] entangled_now & Sam Storyteller on DW (if you haven't read Lab Book, I'll put it toe to toe against Thought Experiments)... anyway, a good gen rec outside the list would be appreciated!
