Not a financial whiz so just a word on siding. Many of our neighbors got it through the co-op some years ago. This particular siding has fake-woodgrain ridges and swirls on it. It looked tacky then, and has only looked tackier as time goes by-- plus the irregularities collect dirt and/or green mold, and have to be scrubbed or water-blasted. On the other hand, it probably does make the place warmer (except on cool sunny days, when it doesn't absorb as much passive solar heat).
