...for your good thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. It's meant a LOT to me.

Today I've got that "gee, the world goes on," giddiness combined with a certain "oh, crap, it's 2 1/2 weeks to Christmas and I'm a few presents short." So I'm going to be taking an early lunch at the mall down the road.

Y'all have no idea how good it feels to just be worrying about the little stuff like that!

Unless I'm called with changes, I'm staying home for the next two days while Dad's in intensive care and Mother will call me on Friday with plans on how I come back up to visit for the weekend and if Dad'll be strong enough for me to see him.

Anybody have any inspirations on a get-well present for a mathematically inclined devout dyslexic on pain meds? I've been specifically asked *not* to bring anything to read, and food is controlled by the hospital until his blood sugar's regulated.

If it were my family, I'd suggest an abacus just as a gag gift, but I'm not sure how well that would go over with your dad, though. *lopsided grin*

Very glad to hear your dad's doing okay. *hugs*

I'd offer to join you and give big hugs, but I have a farewell lunch to go to today, dagnabit.

If he's on powerful pain meds, he'd probably appreciate soothing music. He won't really be interested in anything much. He'll tire easily for a while, too.

I'm glad things went well.

Fairly mentally lightweight games that he can play with visitors?
