The best laid plans...

Today's list of accomplishments so far:
- swing by farmer's market for rolls
- run to Book Thing
- Get cat food, litter, & new litterbox
- Get new sheets (old ones pilled and rough. Also, cat barfed on)
- Wash new sheets and old blanket
- Swap out old, non-working cable box and set up new one (which has taken visits to 2 service centers, an automated phone call, an attempt to log into the website, a phone call to a person, a new service package, and set up an appointment for Tuesday to handle the "weak signal.")

Actual plans for this time on Saturday:
- swing by farmer's market for rolls
- run to the Book Thing
- Clear out bathroom
- Spackle holes
- Primer paint bathroom
- remove drawers from vanity
- sand front of vanity
- primer paint front of vanity

I have to remind myself that just because I haven't done the latter, doesn't mean I haven't done anything today!

It's all the worse because I don't WANT to paint my bathroom in the least. I want the bathroom to have been painted, which is a different thing. The problem is, the only way to get it painted is to woman up and do the job.

Life is like that. I don't want to do the dishes or clip the hedges, but I want those things to be done, and there's only one way that's going to happen. And tomorrow when I'm sore as hell and possibly sunburned, at least they will have been done.

Okay, actually I gave K $5 to take my turn on the dishes, but you get the point. I did clip the hedges.

Note for any other Genuine Redhead Keep Out Of Direct Sun and other such folks-- the UV index in late April is the same as in late August, because the sun's angle and hours of daylight are the same. Sunscreen is good even if it's 70°.

I keep reminding myself that it was horrible to deal with the floor renovations et al, and it was worth it in the long run and I barely remember the trauma.
