I once stumbled over a piece that featured one of the LOTR actors as a rapist and murderer---and used his real-life relatives as fodder.

What in hell would prompt someone to write that, or for anyone to find it entertaining? You can't even hide behind the idea that the author is writing about his relatives' "public persona" and not them.
