Mission accomplished in that I got the car started using the jumper cables, took it to the shop, and they're putting in a new one. I got the best out of the old battery -- 5 1/2 years from a 5 year battery.
Not just for you, old buddy. If I own a car, I want it to run. That's why I've kept the insurance up on it; that's why it gets a new battery. And when it goes to my nephew, it will have passed the MD inspection.
I love my repair guys; they only take a discreet amount off the top, and the car runs, runs, runs.
However, this means that by the weekend (if I'm lucky), I will have a car to loan if necessary.
