Halloween
The year I pretended I wasn't home for halloween, people knocked on my door anyway. Thiis year, I sat on the front porch under the light, and watched people walk right by the house. (At least that gave me an opportunity to move the stuff I didn't like to the top of the bowl!) We did get a rush of kiddies just as I was about to close up shop, so most of the candy did go to new homes.

Dad
The doctor wanted to redo one of the tests, using the hospital's equipment. He'll call back Tuesday. (Great. Just what I needed. MORE tension on Tuesday!)

Dogs
DB did not handle having his territory cut in half very well. He's used to being with people, and consequently jumped the gate something like six times yesterday. Once he made it all the way into my bedroom on the other side of the house without the dogs noticing him. Impressive! Each time, I'd pet him for a while and then lob him back over the gate before the dogs got him. (They wouldn't hurt him - but he didn't see it that way!)

Now everything has been put back to rights, but the cat's aren't entirely convinced. Wonder how long it will take them to mellow out?

Misc.
When I moved into this house, my mother gave me a new vacuume - a milese, or something like that; every time I vacuumed, I thought "I'm Milese Gloriosis!" from Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Then Mother decided she wanted it and took it back, giving me her first vacuume. Which is perfectly fine, for a piece of 1950s technolgy.

Anyway, I've decided that a belated birthday present to myself is getting an upright bagless from Sears.
