Gratuitous Pimping Post
Dec. 16th, 2004 10:55 amI finally brought my Christmas music to work to listen to, including the Christmas Revels - A Victorian Celebration CD I picked up at this year's revels.
Three tracks in, I knew I had a must-listen favorite, right up there with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Mannheim Steamroller. (Yes, I am eclectic, why do you ask?)
Fortunately, everyone can get one of their own.
A Victorian Celebration is very music hall - bright and peppy and full of references to the Queen and England. Perfect for someone like me who doesn't think that Christmas is really complete until someone dances on a coffin, singing "Thank you very much! Thank you very much!"*
I also recommend The Christmas Revels (no subtitle), which may have medieval Christian trappings but is still deliciously pagan. At least, I recommend it to everyone who can put "delicious" and "pagan" in the same sentence.
*Trivia quiz - what am I talking about?
