Request for Charity Donations
Mar. 7th, 2005 08:45 amAs I have mentioned a time or two, I joined the Team Wench MS 5K Walk in April. Every dollar helps, folks, so I am officially sticking out my hand and begging. If you want to donate online, the link is to your right, first under "Team Wench Links."
Since a couple of folks have told me that they don't want to end up on any mailing lists, it is also safe to donate cash directly to me; I will give a receipt and an accounting and said cash will be turned over on the day of the walk.
I'm not good at making persuasive speeches to convince people to give me money, so I'm just going to have to take the direct route:
MS hurts a lot of people. Please help Team Wench help the National MS Society to end this scourge.
Thank you.
ETA:
This is the explanation of our team copied from the Team Wench homepage for the walk. It was written by our team captain, Cyd.
Five years ago, a group of women from the International Wenches Guild who happened to have MS found each other thanks to an online newsgroup. In the intervening years, Team Wench has now grown from three women who wanted to help sponsor the cause of finding a cure for MS, to a group of over 20 members, including men, helping out causes such as Breast Cancer, MS, Colon Cancer, Battered Women, Suicide Prevention, and other great causes!
Please, won't you join our team, or give a donation, to help us come closer to a cure for MS?
