Cardinal Ratzinger was just elected Pope. According to Reuters, he's more than slightly to the right of conservative, being the current head of "the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, the modern successor to the Inquisition" and five years ago he called all non-Catholic churches "deficient."

Since he's already picked a papal name (Benedict XVI), I get the impression that he thought his chances were pretty good.

This does not sound like a Pope who is going to work and play well with others. And no matter where you want to hold the doctrine of your group, you simply cannot have a global office and not work and play well with others.
