My cat, the pussy
Dec. 31st, 2005 08:38 pmI have a large orange cat, who (before me) was an indoor-outdoor cat in a house of about 16 moggies and before *that* had been living on the streets for an undetermined amount of time.
After I had him for a few months, I got a kitten. Now, at this point DB was an undetermined number of years old and experienced in the ways of felines. I figured he'd straighten out this little 4-monther with minimal stress. Instead, in a matter of days, their relationship redefined the term "pussy whipped." Micky stole his food, then stole his food bowl. She'd stare at him and he'd move to give her the good spots. She NURSED on him!
They have over the years reached a detante of sorts, although they have an almost nightly ritual where he's sleeping, she walks up and starts grooming him, he bites her, they tussle, and DB eventually runs off and gives her the spot, where she lies down wherever he was sleeping.
Today,
maureen_the_mad got an itty-bitty kitten, just barely 9 weeks old and friendly as the dickens. DB sniffed it dubiously, then hissed in warning.
The kitten growled back at him.
20-pound DB then ran away from the 1-pound kitten. He's refused to be in the same room since.
My cat is officially a pussy.
