A/C update
Aug. 3rd, 2006 12:46 pmAround 2 in the morning I woke up... because I was cold. Also, my brain was telling me something was wrong; it took a muzzy moment, but I realized that the A/C had switched off.
At 2 in the morning I just grabbed a blanket and rolled over. In the morning, I took stock. 75 in my bedroom, 76 upstairs, 79 in the kitchen, and 81 (!) in the living room. I hung a baseball cap over the livingroom thermostat so I could ignore it and finish the story instead of glare at it.
Also, I noticed that the A/C would switch off, and then kick back on within 2 minutes. Inevitably. Even on ultra-hot days like this, the A/C shouldn't be kicking back on that quickly and that regularly, especially not in the early morning hours.
So, they're coming back "after 3:00" today, to deal with the temperature regulation issues. It shouldn't have taken 20 hours to hit temp, and it should be able to hold temp for longer than 2 minutes. I think I'm venting somewhere I shouldn't be, although I can't figure out where. I even crawled up a stepladder and thrust a fist into the attic to see if it was cold up there, and while there is a puff of air that shouldn't be there, the whole space wasn't cold.
I still want a service contract, but not with this company!
