My mood theme is defective. It doesn't have an entry for "bottomless contempt."

It turns out that the maniac who shot up the Amish school did so because he'd molested some little girls a long time ago and was thinking about doing it again. So to stop himself from victimizing little girls he drove to an Amish school... and shot them dead. Not only is this obscenely wrong, but he culled his victims from the one community guaranteed not to be able to fight him off or fight back. Such a big, brave man!

But then, fighting back against predation has its own pitfalls: the Congressional page who first leaked the emails (which were merely creepy, as opposed to the IMs they led to which were point-blank obscene) isn't just being called a cock-teasing beast by Matt Drudge, he's getting threats. OMG, how dare he point out that the politically powerful, theoretically adult leader of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus has been... exploiting children! Release the hounds!

I keep waiting for the political trifecta and reading about someone, probably named Falwell or Robertson or Dobson, deciding to blame it all on Roe v Wade? Not yet? I'll wait a few days. It'll come.

In the meantime, I'd really like it if the party of Personal Responsibility would step up and accept a big steaming plateful of said responsibility.
