I have done much today! (Including watch "An Unearthly Child," so I have a rather caveman approach to speech at the moment.)
There was electronics recycling a couple miles from here. I took them old computers plus the contents of the Graveyard of Dead Technology. The stuff filled the back of my mini-SUV, and included: two monitors, three printers, a scanner, four VCRs in various states of dead, a couple portable phones, unnumbered keyboards and cables, an ancient modem, an electronic typewriter, a fax machine, an all-in-one stereo system, and a zip drive.
I got an inspection and an estimate for demousing the house. Amazing how the price goes up from the ballpark you get over the phone to the time they actually walk around and start making offers... (And apparently the reason why we haven't had a cricket problem this year is because the mice are eating them. Ew!)
I bought new socksand a book and a new feast gear platter on clearance sale.
I pulled all my sewing patterns out of the eves and divvied them up. I'm only keeping about 1/3 of them; the rare historicals (Pegee, Patterns of History, original Folkwear, etc.) will be sold on ebay and the rest will be offered to my friends, then freecycled.
I changed the cat litter.
And I cooked, including making up a new "X and cheese" recipe. I've been doing very well in the cooking department over the last couple of days:
( Four Ingredient (crock)Pot Roast )
Many of my recipes are really called "It started out as..." This started out as mac and cheese. ( ...And Cheese )
Both of these are filling but on the blandish side, so they go very nicely with a mixed spring green salad with a tart vinagrette. And sliced almonds and some raisins.
If you're wondering what you do with the rest of the beer (I don't drink the stuff), the answer is: ( Beer Bread )
I'm still supposed to fit and sew the lining for what will be my knitting project basket (I've decided to dedicate one of my multitude of baskets to the sewing classes). If I have any energy left after I catch up on LJ, I'll do it tonight. Otherwise, I'll leave it until tomorrow. I've already put the fabric and the thread with it, so it'll be ready to go when I am.
If I don't do it tonight... well, I've done quite a lot today, so I can still pat myself on the back!
And also, the final ebay auction arrived. My Big Finish collection of Doctor Who audios is now complete except for Unbound #7, and I'll pick that up in July when I renew my subscription. And I've found a place that offers American subscriptions to DWM - see "Doctor Who America" (not Who North America) in my links list. They say that they'll deliver as soon as it arrives here, instead of sitting on it for a month. Since Amazon barely promises delivery and buying them quarterly from Alien Entertainment is a pain in the tush and the local comic company hasn't called to say that they'd activate a subscription for me, that's the route I'm going to take starting next month.
(having picked up the current issue in Borders off Charing Cross Road...)
