neadods: (bleh)
While I was offline last night, a link went up to a minute and a half of the upcoming episode Utopia here on YouTube at least until the Beeb finds out about it and yanks it.

Many are the reactions. To keep everyone unspoiled who wants to be, all I will say here is "Perfidious ratbastard!"

Spoiler discussion in comments.

It won't be Sunday for another 90 minutes and I've got a bazillion firefox tags to go through, but too many things to pass on to want to wait until morning.

RECS, ASSD:
Jonquil's discussing Ann Althouse's "Books are Bad" column. Mainly noteworthy for all the snarky references to literature in the comments. Name That Book!

Review of The Dark is Rising movie. Screenwriter John Hodge told me they dropped all the Arthurian stuff from the film Uhhhh... okaaaaaayyy. I am suddenly reminded of the review of Ella Enchanted with the line "This is based on the book the way mammals are based on the land."

I see that my passion for Chris Eccleston is going to lead me into a set of movies just as eyeball-bleedingly bad as my short-lived whirl with Parker Stevenson. Only with less of the 70s fromage factor.

The Rule of Winter by [livejournal.com profile] tanarian. Torchwood fic with a really magnificent twist from an often overlooked or softened-up character.

Night After Night by [livejournal.com profile] dark_aegis. I am really behind in recommending her exellent writing.

Never Doing That Again by [livejournal.com profile] becky_h I never thought I'd recommend m-preg. Just goes to show that all things are possible in fandom. Cracky enough to be funny, but neither sweet nor stupid. I am a guy. Guys don't get pregnant."
"Would you prefer 'infected with a parasitic alien embryo'?" the Doctor asked with a smile.

Since nobody is writing me the Sarah Jane/Ten/Jack porn I keep openly begging for, I'll settle for this charmingly delightful (if regrettably clean) Sarah Jane Adventure/Doctor Who crossover: A Whole Child Ago by [livejournal.com profile] netgirl_y2k

Another Torchwood rec, this one crossed with Doctor Who: Yvonne Hartman thinks Jack Harkness is a Dinosaur. I'm not familiar with [livejournal.com profile] gunbunny, but I'm going to keep an eye out for her in future.

SUNDAY 7 ASSD:
To make up for being at the con next week, I did a full purge of the bathroom to cover this week and next week's seven. Surprising how little makeup I could bring myself to toss, considering that I haven't worn any in two years now. Still, lots of half shampoos and outdated drugs and wrong lipsticks all gone. Also, M took the bag of clothing from the purge when I swapped wardrobes *and* I sold all but three of the Stargate zines I was going to take to M*W to sell! (So handy that I was hostess of the Stargate RPG today!) So I need to make new flyers tomorrow. Is that offer of going halfsies on an Apocalypse West flyer still open? Suddenly I don't need so much space on the page.

For next week's Sunday 7 I'm counting the zines & CDs I'm trying to sell, part of the work done in the bathroom, and I'm taking *all* my Bookcrossing books and some random "why is this in the house?" books and just making up a box that says "Free Books" and sticking it in the hall. If it's a typical M*W, they'll all be gone by Friday night.
