Heh. I make this icon from today's Girl Genius and already I get to use it. Some random oddities from around the 'Net:

Singing Tesla Coil
An oldie but a goodie: One of the more unique means of performing Mozart...

And just because I think it is so cool that he won: Paul Potts singing his heart out. A tubby guy with a dull job. A not-that-popular form of singing. Some of the most beautiful music offered in competition. Ever hear a roomful of teenyboppers going Beatles-style nuts over opera?

Relief

The car is back from the shop. They changed the oil and rotated the tires and now it doesn't pull anymore. We all heaved a huge sigh of relief that the axle wasn't the issue again.

The hole in the basement is pretty fixed. Long story short - when they built the addition, they perched my bedroom on top of what is essentially a manmade cave. It smells like a cave and all. And then they left a HUGE hole between the basement and the cave for pipes to pass, half-assedly plugging it with fiberglass insulation, a shower curtain, and some bits of plastic. Which means my basement smells like a cave and the mice had a superhighway into the house.

M and I spent much of the weekend (more than we expected) and most of tonight filling in the hole with layers of insulating styrofoam and expanding sealant, with laminate on the outside to discourage anything from clawing at the stuff. It's been bluggy disgusting work and I have a piece of fiberglass stuck between my fingers, but it rained last night, which is guaranteed to make the place a bit whiffy.

The cave smells like a wet dog. The basement does *not.* HUZZAH!
