Nothing like waking up in the morning and the first thing you realize is that the story you "finished" last night had a setup line but you'd forgotten to write the payoff paragraph. Fixed now. Posting as soon as the betas get back to me.

God bless torchwood_three: without them I wouldn't have seen this set of miniature Martha crossovers. I don't know who Dan Vasser is, but it was great fun to see her interacting with Jack Carter, Fox Mulder, Mohinder Suresh, and Daniel Jackson.

"Look," he said after she gave him a clean bill of health, "I know you work for them."

"For who?" asked Martha.

"Them!" said Mulder. He indicated in the direction of the crash site, which they were well-removed from. "They may call themselves Torchwood, but I know that's just a front for a branch of an international consortium of powerful men who conspire to keep the truth about extraterrestrial life hidden from the world."

"Really?" said Martha.

Y'all have GOT to check out the French trailer for March of the Penguins. The subtitles are in English, but all you really need to know is that in France it was called "March of the Emperors" and it's about one person describing it to someone else who isn't thinking "Emperor penguin."

The weirdest thing just happened to me as I was putting in the last comments. Word crashed... and when it came up, the file was missing from the thumb drive. Not "my changes were missing" - the FILE was missing! Not in the trash. Not in the temp folder. Not returned to an earlier version. GONE. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice on recovering it? Or should I just be glad that I can rescue last night's version out of email and gladder that M was the final beta and wanted a printed copy to work from?
