Sunday 7

It was a very busy week with something major going on every night and the only reason I didn't say "bag the Sunday 7" was because it's too early in the year to take a break. However, it's not one of the more illustrious ones.

1. Odd Job: Went through the magazine bin, read the articles I wanted from several and got rid of them. Will have to do again for next week, as more have come in! Taken a hard look at the closet - I want to reorganize the bedroom closet - decided how I want to redesign it, and discussed with my dad the possibility of him coming down and helping me with some home carpentry to make the changes. (Honestly - right now the thing is boards and dowel rods held up by 2 x 4s. And it works. I see no point in paying Ikea or Container store hundreds of dollars for a "system" when all I want is to essentially add another couple of boards and rods. And Dad does carpentry.)

2. Decluttered: Er. Technically, this hasn't been done at all this week; however, I'm going to make a point of clearing and cleaning the bathroom counter today if I can.

3. Knitalong: 26 blocks - that's four more in a week! Go me! And I've got two more on needles now.

4. Indulgence: I can claim two this week, and both free: I went to the sit-and-knit at the local yarn store, which was quite pleasant. I couldn't stay the whole time (nor will I while Wednesdays are Torchwood night), but I could be there for a bit, and just meet people.

The big one, though, was the Scott Backula concert. I used to usher for the Shakespeare Theater, so I was on the email list when they were looking for extra hands for "An Evening with Scott Bakula." M and I volunteered right away, and for the "price" of standing and saying "The coat check is around the corner and your tickets are in this/that door" we got balcony seats to see Scott sing and dance.

I bought new makeup yesterday, so this week's list is:
Items Dealt With:

5. Old makeup - tossed

6. Fugly red plastic "handbag" that came free with new makeup - tossed

7. Mascara that came in fugly red plastic handbag - given to M

P.S. and OT: I continue to adore the surreal New Adventures of Queen Victoria (lj feed: [livejournal.com profile] naoqv)

Having run all over town and even down to Annapolis where I first found it, I have discovered that tinted moisturizer is "out" - all that's left is discounted stuff and self-tanning moisturizers, which are not at all what I want.

What I really want is Burt's Bees tinted moisturizer, which no longer exists; what I'll make do with is Milan's tinted moisturizer, which is half off, presumably because it is about to cease existing.

So... what moisturizers do y'all use, tinted or not? I'm going to need something in a couple of months.

My review for Knitting Bones is up on Reviewing the Evidence.

[livejournal.com profile] fandance sent this too late for Christmas, but it's too wonderful not to pass on: The ultimate Halleluja Chorus (Read the second page comments to be told the bits that don't show up on screen.)

An absolute must-watch no matter your religious beliefs. But keep the drinks away from the monitor...
