A quiet moment before the madness
Jul. 11th, 2008 06:54 pmThe whole season finale of Who suddenly got a new perspective this afternoon, as I went to see Hellboy, which is the brightest, most artistic turd I've ever witnessed. As many plot holes and sad subtext as there is in a Rusty plot, as many times as spectacle and angst trump storytelling, at least there IS some storytelling going on. As opposed to seeing a bunch of idiots stumble their way through a random collection of beautifully CGIed threadbare cliches.
Seriously. Everything short of Random Shoes suddenly looks like Shakespeare.
I'm posting in the quiet time before Meet the Pros at Shore Leave (in which, for the first time, I am one of the pros! *squeak!*) Knock virtual wood, I think I've found someone to take the Masq. photo area, which gets me off the hook there, and lets me concentrate on panels and guests. There's a two-hour panel for Quality of Leadership tomorrow, and on Sunday there's a general Whoniverse discussion and - huzzah, it's on the schedule! - the Morality panel. Even without spoilers, there's plenty to talk about.
My posting ability is going to get erratic from the time I log off tonight until Sunday afternoon.
Oh, and I'm road-testing my idea for a new traveling knitting project, so there'll be discussion of that as well.
