Bitte - German translation help
Feb. 19th, 2010 06:50 amI've been following with fascination the storyline at 9 Chickweed Lane for the last several months. Basically, the crusty old grandmother is finally opening up and telling her daughter about her undercover work in World War II. ( Storyline summary )
Bottom line: In order to protect her Austrian informant from having his throat cut as a collaborator, Edda has just provided a cover story by hauling him into a dark corner, climbing into his lap, and spending about a minute kissing him. Then she wandered off, reminding him to tell his fellow prisoners "this is not what it appears to be."
Unfortunately, he delivers the punchline, which is important for both the joke and the story... in German. I don't entirely trust Google's translation, so can anyone help me with:
"Bitte, glauben sie mir, es ist anders ale sie denken."
Danke!
