Kick ass, Edda!

Thank you everyone for your messages of support last night. They were deeply needed. I've been on high freakout level...

...Ever since [livejournal.com profile] boogiebabe_smap called me 24 hours ago and said she was in the hospital for overnight observation after collapsing of a probable heart attack at work, and could I get the news out and make sure the dogs were taken care of?

At the time, Smap could only remember my number and [livejournal.com profile] shawan_7's; I was closer & most likely to be home. (Smap's sister, in the restrained and understated manner of that family, now insists that Smap tattoo her family's numbers on her ass, promising to rip the strip off for Smap to read if she ever forgets again. She has a point - I didn't have her or their brother's number, so they found out when I wrote it on Brother's Facebook wall, which is a hell of a way to be notified.)

Anyway, after I flipped out I picked up the phone and started calling the gang. LJ-less D (you'll remember him as my wingman when I bought a car last year) took care of dog duty; I was waiting for him to report back on them when I was called in response to my messages by [livejournal.com profile] shawan_7, [livejournal.com profile] fandance, and the LJ-less P, plus my brother.

P is a trained patient advocate and former EMT; she's been with Smap in the hospital, while my role turned into Town Crier, hearing from P and/or Smap and spreading the word. (I'm rather grateful in retrospect, it gave me something to *do* and I knew that I was in the news loop for sure.)

Smap is now home; she got to a pharmacy before it closed for the holiday and we had dinner together before I lit out for home; [livejournal.com profile] fandance and D will be there later tonight to check up on her. She's lucid, calm, and feeling well; has been since they took her in. But we don't know for sure what happened yet; they're going to run more tests next week.
