Inching toward the shutdown
Apr. 8th, 2011 06:04 pmWell, life is about to get interesting.
Not being Government-related, my wire wrapping class with
boogiebabe_smap is still on, as is the DC Metro Yarn Crawl (for extremely vague terms of "metro," as the participating stores run from Hyattsville, MD to Fredericksburg, VA.)
The Cherry Blossom Festival and attending Sakura market will still happen. They will apparently still be rained on as well.
After that... Odds are very good that I'm going to be caught in the economic blowback of a shutdown. Still, I'm so proud of the Dems for holding firm on Title X. For a party that came back into power on a promise of jobs and the economy, I notice that the first thing to go through -- in Texas, as an emergency bill fast-tracked before anything dealing with the budget -- were sweeping attempts to deny women not only choice, but options, health care, access, and even privacy.
